Ingredients

  • ½ pound fresh salmon
  • 1 tablespoon white miso paste
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon warm water
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • pinch red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 3 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 1 ½ tablespoon sesame oil
  • coarse salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the broiler - set on high. Slice salmon into two equal portions, pat dry, and set aside.
  • In a small bowl, whisk the miso paste, maple syrup, water, vinegar, ginger and optional red pepper flakes until smooth. 
  • Spread broccoli onto a sheet pan in a single layer. Drizzle with sesame oil, and sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Toss to coat.
  • Add salmon fillets. Spoon or brush the glaze on top of the fillets. Broil on high 7-8 minutes. Serve.

Notes

Slice the salmon into pieces that are about the same size. This will ensure the salmon cooks evenly.
Line the pan with foil for easier cleanup.
