How to Make Maple Vanilla Oat Milk

Ingredients

  • 3 cups cool filtered water
  • 1 cup old fashioned oats
  • 2 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch salt

Instructions

  • Add the water and oats to a blender, blend about 30 seconds. (I blended just over 30 seconds on 5 in the Vitamix.)
  • Strain with a sieve, cheesecloth, or nut milk bag into a jar with a lid.
  • Add the maple syrup, vanilla extract and salt. Shake. Keep cool in the fridge for up to 3 days. Shake well before pouring into tea or coffee or over cereal.

Tips for making oat milk at home:
Use a good blender. 
Blend the oats with cool, filtered water.
Blend for 30 seconds – not much longer to prevent the milk from becoming goopy from the natural fiber in the oats.
