A Refreshing Spring Brunch at the Cook’s Warehouse

A couple weeks ago, I was invited to attend the Cook’s Warehouse Spring Blogger’s Brunch. I immediately RSVP’d yes because Cook’s Warehouse is one of my favorite places in the city and I looked forward to meeting some local bloggers too. I’ve taken cooking classes there, volunteered and it’s my go-to brick and mortar kitchen supply store for fun kitchen gadgets. On this day, I was excited to meet Chef Jennifer Hill Booker and taste her French inspired southern cuisine.

I had no idea I’d be in for such a treat. In under two hours, Chef Jennifer demonstrated and served up a delicious Sunday brunch. We had appetizers…

Yes. Those are black pepper biscuits and pimiento cheese and they were fantastic!

And the main dish, a Spring Omelet Roll presented eggs in a way I’ve never had before. The omelet roll was soft and fluffy with just enough tang from a small bit of Dijon mustard.

Cook’s Warehouse owner, Mary Moore, also gave a preview of some new items in the store. She shared several items perfect for spring entertaining like Epicurean’s Elegant Pastry Stand:

However, my favorite by far was the Zoku Ice Cream Maker Bowl. As a registered dietitian nutritionist, I think this little bowl is just perfect. I mean you can make a single serving of ice cream anytime you want. There’s no worries about a half gallon of homemade ice cream hanging out in the freezer – tempting you at 10 o’clock at night.

The generosity didn’t end with the refreshing brunch dishes and the fun tips and tricks for entertaining. The Cook’s Warehouse gave us a generous bag of goodies. My favorite is the mini Epicurean cutting board (in the center). I have two regular size ones. They are lightweight, easy to clean and the perfect surface to save your knives. I’m sure this little one will get plenty of use in my busy kitchen.

So, that’s it. I just wanted to share some of my favorite finds from my last visit to the Cook’s Warehouse. I learn something new each time I go.
