It’s been a good year. Thanks for being part of it! (Ha. Ha.) If you’ve spent any time on Facebook in the past few days, you’ve seen that line over and over again. Because I rarely post on my personal page, mine would return dust and cobwebs. Most of my friends would label me a Facebook lurker and I’m OK with that.
However, in the spirit of gratitude it’s nice to look back over the year. I love being a registered dietitian nutritionist and I am grateful for the opportunities and experiences I had this year. In no particular order, here are a few of the highlights.
International experiences in Paris, Amsterdam and my first speaking engagement in a foreign country… OK it was Alberta, Canada but that still qualifies right?
I also had my first and second satellite media interviews ever… on CNN International and a last minute interview for the TODAY show via the NBC Chicago studios.
I attended a blog changing conference put on by an incredible group of women at Blog Brulee in beautiful Vermont.
I got a DSLR camera and started looking for the light all over my house. I still don’t know how to really use the camera but my pictures have dramatically improved. Don’t you just love that manicure? Makes me long for summer… sigh.
Through the power of social media, I got a two page feature in my alma mater’s alumni magazine. It’s an honor and I’m thankful. Getting all dressed up was fun too. #DressingRoom Selfie
I hopped a few planes to speak at conferences – a lot.
Here’s a shot from the Blog Her Food Miami closing party.
Also got a last minute invite to the Healthy Kitchens, Healthy Lives conference and enjoyed some of the best food I’ve ever had in one of the most beautiful places in this country.
Judging by my most popular post… I’m officially a healthy food blogger. My most popular post was these Balsamic Roasted Brussels Sprouts.
Major Bucket List Check Off: I was selected to speak at FNCE here in Atlanta on the subject of social media. Here I am with my amazing nutrition entrepreneur co-presenters and moderator. (Left to right: Sherry Collins, Ann Dunaway Teh, Amber Pankonin, Carlene Thomas and Me!)
And I started blogging for the Kitchenthusiast! Look out for my seasonal nutrition posts the first Friday of the month throughout the year – starting this Friday, January 2nd!
2014 was a good year career-wise. Lots more work to do.
The one thing missing is YOU… More to come. Stay tuned.
Happy New Year!!
